Fiscal Note

The Water Utility administers the City of Madison’s Municipal Services Bill, which bills for water, sewer, stormwater, landfill remediation, and urban forestry charges. Currently, Municipal Services Bill debts may be unrecoverable for customers that live outside the City. Madison Water Utility is currently exploring options to address water affordability for all customers while staying within regulatory guidelines. The proposed resolution authorizes the City of Madison to recover debts on delinquent accounts that may otherwise be unrecoverable. No appropriation is required
