Fiscal Note
As stated in the Employment Agreement between the City of Madison and David P. Schmiedicke, the Finance Department director’s salary will be based on a total annualized rate of $175,844 effective August 1, 2021. The Finance Department director position is approved and funded in the 2021 Adopted Operating Budget. Annual salary adjustments may be made during the term of the agreement at the Mayor’s discretion, subject to Common Council approval.

WHEREAS, Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway has appointed David Schmiedicke to the position of Finance Director and has recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Schmiedicke,
NOW THEREFORE, be resolved that Mr. Schmiedicke's appointment to the position of Finance Director is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and the City Clerk’s office are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr.Schmiedicke.
