Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution approves plans and advertises bids for traffic signal installation at the intersection of Aberg Avenue and NB Packers ramp. Funding for this project is available within Traffic Engineering's 2020 and 2021 capital budget appropriation in the Traffic Signal Installation program. No additional appropriation required.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Traffic Engineering Department has recommended the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Aberg Avenue & NB Packers Ramp at the February 12, 2020 Transportation Commission (legistar file 59442); and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Transportation Commission adopted the Traffic Engineering Departments Staff Recommendation report on February 12, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Traffic Engineering Department has determined the location of the intersection does not provide individual parcels of property benefits that would be applicable to an assessment district, therefore the City of Madison shall pay 100% of the cost of the project; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED

1.                     That the plans and specifications for the Aberg & NB Packers Ramp Signal project, be and are hereby approved; and

2.                     That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project; and

3.                     That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and grant easements or right-of -way release or procurement documents, maintenance agreements or encroachment agreements, as necessary and grant or accept dedication of lands and/or easements from/to the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside the existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
