I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION COMMISSION
KRISTIN M. MATHEWS (18th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Mathews is a retired City of Madison Parks employee, who served on the Parks Department’s Racial Equity and Social Justice team as well as both the Owl Creek and Darbo-Worthington Neighborhood Resource Teams. She is currently involved with several organizations including the Social Justice Center and AmeriCorps. Ms. Mathews succeeds April C. Kigeya.
TERM EXPIRES: 4-19-2022
MELISSA A.HERRIGES (17th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Herriges is an emergency shelter case manager with Sankofa-Educational Leadership United. She previously worked in the area of economic empowerment with the Urban League of Greater Madison. She is the board secretary of the Madison Network of Black Professionals. Ms. Herriges succeeds Stephanie J. Munoz.

REUBEN SANON, Deputy Mayor - appointed to a one-year term to the position of Mayor or Designee succeeding Linda Vakunta.

SUSTAINABLE MADISON COMMITTEE
HEATHER DRISCOLL (6th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Member. Ms. Driscoll currently holds the Common Council or Resident Member position and has served since 2-4-2020. She succeeds Nada A. Elmikashfi.

JESSICA M. LECLAIR (12th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Member. Ms. LeClair currently holds the Common Council or Resident Member position and has served since 10-2-2018. She succeeds Cassandra K. Steiner.

POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION
VERONICA FIGUEROA VELEZ (18th A.D.) - appoint to a five-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Figueroa Velez is the executive director of UNIDOS Against Domestic Violence. She is also serving as the executive director of Dane Arts Mural Arts (DAMA). Ms. Figueroa Velez is involved with numerous organizations including being a member of the Latino Consortium for Action and serving on the boards of Community Shares of Wisconsin and End Domestic Abuse WI. She succeeds Fabiola Hamdan.
