Title

Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2021 - 05 Authorization to Accept Continued Grant Funds from WI Department of Health Services for COVID-19 Response Efforts

Body

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting continued grant funding from the WI Department of Health Services (WI DHS) to support the ongoing implementation of COVID-19 response activities, including contact tracing, testing, surveillance, and vaccine administration. Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting the following continued grant funding:

$5,461,700 via CDC Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity grant under CARS profile 155806.

o                     $2,501,900 of the total is designated for contact tracing and $2,959,800 can be applied to support all response-related activities.

o                     The funding period is October 1, 2020 through October 31, 2022.

An estimated $2,250,000 through the continuation of the COVID-19 Testing Pilot Program for COVID-19 testing at the Alliant Energy Center.

o                     These funds are to support the work of local COVID-19 community testing efforts in community-based settings, and the funding will support expenses resulting from specimen collection and results communication

o                     This amount reflects an estimate for a $20/test reimbursement for each test to performed by PHMDC at Alliant Energy Center with a projected time period of 1/1/2021 - 4/2/2021.

o                     To date, PHMDC has performed over 337,000 COVID-19 tests.

Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, authorizes the Director of Public Health to sign updated grant agreements and accept an estimated $7,711,700 of continued grant funding from WI Department of Health Services to support ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
