Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to Support the Overdose Data to Action Project

Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of additional funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services through the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) Community Prevention Grant. The goal of OD2A is to strengthen and enhance the capacity of communities to prevent morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdoses. These additional funds will be used to design promotional materials for the Dane County Overdose Spike Alert System, conduct and transcribe focus groups testing Overdose Spike Alert materials, translate materials into Spanish, print materials, and allow for virtual attendance at the Wisconsin Opioid, Stimulant & Trauma Summit and the National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit.
Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may accept grants with the approval of the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept the amended consolidated contract funding in the amount of $13,300 in the 2021 budget.
