Commending Dave Trowbridge for his significant contributions to shaping Madison’s transportation system and congratulating him on his retirement after 23 years of public service.
Body
WHEREAS, Dave Trowbridge has been with the City of Madison for 23 years as a Transportation Planner; and
WHEREAS, Dave has adeptly represented Madison Transportation interests to the business community, community organizations, neighborhoods, and the State; and
WHEREAS, Dave has led key initiatives for the City, including Transport 2020, the Street Car initiative, High Speed Rail, and our current efforts with Bus Rapid Transit; and
WHEREAS, Dave has also served the City government, staffing numerous committees including the Long Range Transportation Plan Commission; and
WHEREAS, Dave has been an advocate for progressive transportation solutions, including encouraging the spread of BCycle bike sharing system, and Transportation Demand Management solutions; and
WHEREAS, his efforts have been formative in developing Madison’s transportation planning and policy, leading the Madison in Motion Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, Madison has been recognized as a national leader in both active transportation and transit, and Dave’s efforts have greatly contributed to our transportation system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the citizens of the City of Madison, through the Mayor and Common Council, hereby express their deep appreciation to David Trowbridge for his significant contributions to shaping our transportation system, and for his 23 years of loyal and conscientious public service to the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City Staff, Mayor, and Alders wish Dave continued success as he spends time with his wife Michelle, daughter Lauren and son Colin, and hope he continues to pursue his musical interests as a bassist for cover rock and roll bands.
