The proposed resolution orders property owners to replace substandard or defective sidewalks at an estimated cost of $13,768.51. Sidewalks will be installed or repaired in Aldermanic Districts 5, 9, and 20. Funding is available in the 2020 Engineering Sidewalk Program (MUNIS 12692-403-200).
Ordering Property Owners to Replace Substandard/Defective Sidewalks. (ADs 5,9 and 20)
To provide safe pedestrian travel throughout the City, new areas of sidewalk are installed and existing sections of sidewalk in need of repair are removed and replaced.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the property owners of the property hereinafter described be hereby ordered to install sidewalk or parts thereof, hereinafter described, in full compliance with the requirements of the City Ordinance governing such construction. Firm arrangements for such construction shall be made by the date specified on the Sidewalk Notice, and that if arrangements are not made by the aforesaid date, the City of Madison, will cause such sidewalk to be installed and charge the cost hereof to the property in front of which the walk is laid, and such cost, unless previously paid, will be collected as a special tax against the property in front of which the walks are installed.
