The proposed resolution authorizes an amended agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of Cottage Grove Road. The project is complete, and the amended agreement decreases the federal funding on the project by $165,446. The excess funds will be transferred to an unrelated City project in need of additional funds

PREAMBLE
Cottage Grove Road from IH 39 to Sprecher Road is currently under construction. The project has excess federal funds that will be transferred to the Gammon Road project which is also under construction and in need of additional funds.
The amended agreement will decrease the total STP-Urban funds by $165,446.
The agreement requires that the City indemnify the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. City APM 1-1 requires Common Council Approval whenever the City indemnifies another party.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an amended agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for construction cost sharing for the Cottage Grove Road (CTH BB) project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Common Council approves indemnification of the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation as set forth in the agreement in order to use federal funds for the Cottage Grove Road (CTH BB) project.
