The proposed resolution authorizes an agreement with the City of Fitchburg for two traffic signal and control installation projects: McKee Road and CTH MM & Lacy Road. The total cost for both projects is $200,000 (McKee Road=$50k and CTH MM & Lacy Road-$150k). As proposed both projects will be fully funded by the City of Fitchburg. The 2020 Adopted Capital Budget included $50,000 for the McKee Road project but does not include appropriation for the CTH MM & Lacy Road project. This resolution amends the 2020 Adopted Capital Budget to increase the appropriation for the Traffic Signal Installation program by $150,000, this appropriation will be fully funded by a payment from the City of Fitchburg.
Any ongoing operating costs associated with maintaining these signals will be funded by payments from the City of Fitchburg.

WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering would require an additional total of $150,000.00 in other government funding budget authority to fund the installation of traffic control signals at the intersection of CTH MM & Lacy Rd; and
WHEREAS, Section 66.0301, Wisconsin Statutes, authorizes cities, villages, towns, counties, and other public agencies to enter into agreements for the receipt or furnishing of services or the joint exercise of any power or duty required or authorized by law; and,
