Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution amends the Police Department’s operating budget and authorizes the Mayor and Chief of Police to accept a Project Safe Neighborhoods grant award from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice in the amount of $15,642. MPD anticipates using the funding in 2020 for overtime expenses. There is no match requirement or city funding necessary. The resolution also authorizes MPD to charge overtime to a Dane County Narcotics Task Force Project Safe Neighborhoods award of $20,000. The timing of Task Force spending is investigative case driven.
