Fiscal Note
As stated in the Employment Agreement between the City of Madison and Robert F. Phillips, the City Engineer’s salary will be based on a total annualized rate of $160,990 effective February 15, 2020. An additional payment based on an annualized rate of $15,000 will be paid to compensate the City Engineer for the duties performed as Public Works Team Leader for the Department of Public Works. The City Engineer position is approved and funded in the 2020 Adopted Operating Budget. Annual salary adjustments may be made during the term of the agreement at the Mayor’s discretion, subject to Common Council approval.

WHEREAS, Mayor Rhodes-Conway has appointed Robert F. Phillips to the position of City Engineer and has recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Phillips,
NOW THEREFORE, be resolved that Mr. Phillip's appointment to the position of City Engineer is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and the City Clerk’s office are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Phillips.
