Fiscal Note
As stated in the Employment Agreement between the City of Madison and Matthew R. Wachter, the Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development director’s salary will be based on a total annualized rate of $153,000 effective February 4, 2020. The Director of Planning and Community and Economic Development position is approved and funded in the 2020 Adopted Operating Budget. Annual salary adjustments may be made during the term of the agreement at the Mayor’s discretion, subject to Common Council approval.

WHEREAS, Mayor Rhodes-Conway has appointed Matthew R. Wachter to the position of Director of Planning & Community & Economic Development and has recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Wachter,
NOW THEREFORE, be resolved that Mr. Wachter's appointment to the position of Director of Planning & Community & Economic Development is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and the City Clerk’s office are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Wachter.
