Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the Parks Superintendent to enter into a grant agreement with the United States Department of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service for invasive species control and native seeding at Owen Conservation Park. The grant is for $13,000 and the Parks Division will provide approximately an equal amount of City funding and donated volunteer labor towards this project. Expenditure authorization and grant funding are included in the Parks Division Conservation Park Improvements capital budget (Munis project #17124). There is no impact upon the tax levy.

Body
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service, Wisconsin Private Lands Office has awarded a grant for invasive species control and native seeding at Owen Conservation Park; and
WHEREAS, under this agreement the City will use the grant funding towards invasive species control and native seeding at Owen Conservation Park, and will provide approximately equal amounts of City funding and donated volunteer labor towards this project; and
WHEREAS, both City and Federal expenditure authorization for this project is available in the Conservation Park Improvements capital project (17124); and
WHEREAS, the City and the Fish and Wildlife Service has worked collaboratively on habitat restoration efforts over the past 10 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parks Superintendent is authorized to sign, on behalf of the city, grant agreements with the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service, which includes accepting up to $13,000 to fund the above described services, and also includes other terms and conditions of participating in this program,
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the agreements are to be reviewed and approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager.
