Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to the existing engineering design services contract for the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Expansion - Project 1. The resolution seeks to add $124,780 to the existing authorized contract amount of $1,050,552 for additional services being provided during the construction administration and warranty phases of the project. Funding for the increase will come from the existing project budget for the Olbrich Botanical Complex (MUNIS project 17193).

The parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Meyer, Scherer, & Rockcastle, Ltd. ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for the purchase of professional architectural design and construction administration services for Olbrich Botanical Gardens on April 6, 2017 (RES-17-00175, File ID 45810); and entered into Design Amendment #1 on June 13, 2018 (RES-18-00347, File ID 50924); and entered into Design Amendment #2 on March 1, 2019 (RES-19-00139, File ID 54550).
The contract amendment for this resolution is to address extra design services needed for unforeseen revisions to the existing Reverse Osmosis system so it could be tied in with new greenhouse systems.
In addition a contract extension for additional Construction Administration (including but not limited to responding to contractor questions, site progress visits, etc.) to coincide with extensions granted to the construction contract and the resulting 1-year warranty period.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Amendment #3 to the Contract between the City of Madison and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd., ...
