Title
Accepting ownership of the artwork "Momental" by Jeffrey Repko, a public art sculpture located in Elver Park, between the parking lot and splash pad.
Body
WHEREAS the Madison Arts Commission's mission is to fund artistic activities and initiate cultural programs that integrate, support, and advance arts and culture as an essential part of life in Madison; and
WHEREAS the Common Council adopted Resolution number RES-18-00619, ID number 52486 on July 10, 2018 approving Art in Public Places funding in the amount of $15,000 to the Madison Parks Foundation, Inc. on behalf of the Makeshift Festival for the permanent installation of a sculpture from the festival; and
WHEREAS the organizers proactively raised an additional $3000 and established a designated fund at the Madison Parks Foundation, Inc. to support ongoing maintenance of the sculpture; and
WHEREAS the sculpture has been completed and photo documentation and maintenance instructions have been filed with the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison hereby accepts ownership of Momental created by artist Jeffrey Repko.
