Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a non-competitive purchase of goods from MityLite, Inc. in the amount of $133,388.91. The proposed purchase will be funded by approximately $340,000 of available budget authority in Monona Terrace’s Machinery and Other Equipment capital program. No additional City appropriation is required.

A Resolution authorizing a non-competitive purchase of goods from MityLite, Inc., as a sole source provider of Magnattach magnetic dance floor for the replacement of equipment that has reached the end of its useful life.
Body
WHEREAS, as Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center (“Monona Terrace”) gets ready to celebrate its 23rd anniversary, it continues to be necessary to maintain Monona Terrace’s plant and equipment in a manner that is consistent with its reputation as a premier convention and meeting venue; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to replace the existing dance floor in 2019; and,
WHEREAS, because MityLite, Inc. is the exclusive manufacturer and supplier of the Magnattach dance floor, patented magnet and steel wedge-lock system, that are physically and aesthetically compatible with Monona Terrace’s cherry wood finishes, MityLite, Inc. is the “sole source” for magnetic dance floor that will replace equipment that has reached the end of its useful life; and,
WHEREAS, the benefits to purchasing MityLite, Inc.’s Magnattach magnetic dance floor will result in reduced labor costs and times to assemble, easier transport due to its lightweight design, no moving parts, and an updated design from the existing parquet cam-lock system, the purchase of the “dance floor and related accessories” will result in a better product for our customers, and increased operational efficiencies; and,
WHEREAS, funding for the purchases of the magnetic dance floor and related accessories is provided for as part of the adopted Monona Terrace Capital budget; and,
