Funding for the District 8 Alderperson is available in the Common Council 2019 Operating Budget.
Title
Appointing Sally Rohrer as Alderperson for District 8 to serve until the Spring 2020 election.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee met on October 22, 2019 to make a recommendation on the appointment of an Alderperson for District 8 according to the procedures outlined in Madison General Ordinances 2.03; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee reviewed the resumes submitted and interviewed the applicants; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee recommends that Sally Rohrer be appointed to fill the vacated District 8 aldermanic seat; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council shall appoint and confirm the recommended candidate, or appoint and confirm another candidate among the applicants, per MGO 2.03(4),
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Sally Rohrer is hereby appointed to the position of Alderperson for District 8 effective November 5, 2019 to serve until an election is held in the spring of 2020 and a qualified District 8 Alderperson is elected and sworn-in on April 21, 2020.
