Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution amends the 2019 Adopted Capital Budget for Traffic Engineering to appropriate County Funds to install traffic signals at the County Highway S (Mineral Point Road) & Pioneer Road intersection in Dane County. The total estimated cost of the project is $130,000 and will be paid by Dane County.
Revenue from Dane County for operation and maintenance of the traffic signals will be covered under a separate agreement with Dane County.

Body
WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering would require an additional $130,000.00 in other government funding budget authority to fund this project; and
WHEREAS, Section 66.0301, Wisconsin Statues, authorizes cities, villages, towns, counties, and other public agencies to enter into agreements for the receipt or furnishing of services; and
WHEREAS, Dane County desires that Madison install signals and street lights at County Highway S (Mineral Point Road) & Pioneer Road intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison will install traffic signals and street lights at County Highway S (Mineral Point Road) & Pioneer Road with all costs reimbursed to the City of Madison by Dane County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Traffic Engineering’s 2019 Adopted Capital Budget is amended to appropriate $130,000 from County Sources for traffic signal and installation costs at County Highway S (Mineral Point Road) & Pioneer Road intersection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and other City officials be authorized to execute an agreement with Dane County for the installation of traffic signals and street lights at the County Highway S (Mineral Point Road) & Pioneer Road intersection.
