Title
Board of Health Resolution #2019-14 Authorization to Accept Funds from Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, Inc. to Support the Maternal and Child Health Program
Body
Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) requests approval to accept funding from the Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, Inc. (ORF) to support the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program. ORF provides responsible, committed local organizations with financial support that enhances access to and relevance of education, teaching, research, human services and resources in order to improve the quality of life for everyone in the Madison Community.
In 2017, ORF, in partnership with the City of Madison, Dane County, Madison Metropolitan School District, and the United Way of Dane County, developed the Northside Early Childhood Zone (NECZ). The NECZ is intended to provide robust wraparound support services for families on Madison’s Northside. PHMDC has contributed to the NECZ through the provision of Nurse-Family Partnership home visiting services and via staff participation on a variety of NECZ workgroups.
PHMDC requests to accept $20,000 from ORF in recognition of PHMDC’s contributions to the Northside Early Childhood Zone. These funds will be used to support PHMDC’s (MCH) programming in order to create systems, policies, and programming. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health to accept $20,000 from Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, Inc. to support the Maternal and Child Health program.
