The proposed resolution amends the 2019 Adopted Capital Budget to increase funding for the Fire Station 14 project by $50,000. The increase will be funded by transferring appropriation from the 2019 Fire Building Improvements program. The increased funding will be used to construct training props to be used for training purposes.

The City of Madison is constructing a wooden training structure to conduct fireless training exercises for incumbent and recruit personnel on the site of Fire Station 14, 3201 Dairy Drive. Two bids were received on June 6, 2019 and it has been determined that additional funds are needed in order to award the public works contract to the low bidder. A budget amendment is needed in order to fund the total construction costs with the Fire Station 14 project. No increase in general fund supported General Obligation borrowing will be required for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2019 Fire Department Capital Budget is amended to transfer $50,000 of existing general obligation borrowing authority from the Fire Building Improvements project to Fire Station 14 project.
