Board of Health Resolution #2019-12 Authorization to Accept Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to Support Youth Engagement in Public Health Madison and Dane County's Community Health Assessment (CHA) Efforts

Body

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on behalf of the Division of Public Health to support youth engagement in the department’s countywide community health assessment. Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting $4,500 to conduct focus groups and community conversations with youth affiliated with Nehemiah, Warner Park, and Urban League programming and services. These groups will explore youth perspectives on community strengths, needs, challenges, and opportunities and findings will help inform department priorities around youth engagement and community health improvement. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, authorizes the Director of Public Health to accept $4,500 for youth engagement in focus groups and community conversations as part of the department’s Community Health Assessment.
