Title

Board of Health Resolution #2019-09 Authorization to Accept Funds from Madison4Kids, Inc. to Support Perinatal Programs

Body

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting grant funding from Madison4Kids, Inc. to support perinatal program participants. Madison4Kids, Inc. is a local non-profit organization based in Middleton, WI whose mission is to provide support to help Greater Madison, WI kids achieve and live a better quality of life.

Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting $999.72 to provide safety supplies for families with infants participating in the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program or receiving Prenatal Care Coordination (PNCC) Services. As infants learn, grow, and develop they have higher risks for injuries, which may include falls, burns, choking and suffocation. The Madison4Kids, Inc. grant will help provide a variety of safety supplies and instructions, including gates, cabinet locks, and outlet covers, to families.  Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health to accept $999.72 from the Madison4Kids, Inc. to support the Perinatal Programs.
