Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on behalf of the Division of Public Health to support various activities in two programs. Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting $6,414 to administer the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and $25,256 for outreach funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, as well as accepting $175,000 to create a project-funded, bilingual/bicultural Disease Intervention Specialist position to support HIV prevention activities in alignment with the WI Integrated HIV Prevention and Care plan. Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, authorizes the Director of Public Health to accept $6,414 for the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, $25,256 for outreach for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children Program, and $175,000 for HIV Prevention.
