The proposed resolution amends the existing contract for design and engineering services to add additional scope of work at an estimated cost of $9,200. Existing funding will absorb the contract amendment with the budgeted amount provided for the Buckeye Road reconstruction project in Engineering-Major Streets.

Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an Amendment to the contract between Madison and Strand Associates for additional design engineering services for the Buckeye Road Reconstruction Project. (15th AD)

PREAMBLE:
The City is proposing to reconstruct Buckeye Road from Monona Drive to Stoughton Road in 2019. The City entered into an agreement with Strand Associates for design services (Original: RES-15-00127). Geometry was approved for the street reconstruction by Common Council (RES-19-00393). City Engineering & City Traffic Engineering were authorized to proceed with final design for reconstruction of the street.
The City Engineer recommended that additional design services be undertaken by Strand Associates. They were:
• Revise water main drawings based on CAD layout provided by the Water Utility.
• Review new design for conflicts with proposed construction (i.e. storm sewer, sanitary, lighting, etc.) and adjust as needed.
• Revise water main quantities and provide revised misc. quantity sheets.
• Quality control and address any subsequent Water Utility comments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Amendment to the contract between Madison and Strand Associates for additional design engineering services for the Buckeye Road Reconstruction Project.
