Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to an existing contract for design services (contract 8412) for the amount of $23,227. The new contract as amended will total $218,227. Existing funding is authorized for the increased contract cost within the adopted 2019 capital budget via the the Citywide Flood Mitigation program which provides appropriated $7,570,000 in GO Borrowing and Stormwater Utility reserves in 2019 (MUNIS 11513).

PREAMBLE

The City of Madison Engineering Division is proposing to conduct watershed and flood studies for the west and near west sides as a result of extreme rain events over the past several years. The City entered into an agreement with Brown and Caldwell for design services (RES-19-00205).  The City Engineer requested additional design services and recommend that they be undertaken by Brown and Caldwell for the Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed Study as defined below:

1.                     Procure and provide monitoring equipment to the City to support the Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed Study

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and Amendment 1 to the contract between the City of Madison and Brown and Caldwell for additional design services for Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed Study.
