Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an increase to the existing architecture and engineering design services contract for the Madison Municipal Building Renovation project (MMB). The resolution authorizes an addional $15,141 to the existing contract for extra services provided during the construction administration phase of the project, which is fully funded within the existing carryforward project budget authority for the MMB renovation. This service contract amendment does not require any modifications to the project budget.

Preamble
The parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for the purchase of professional architectural pre-design (programming and preliminary concept) services for the Madison Municipal Building (MMB) and City-County Building (CCB) on July 15, 2014 (RES-14-00545); a contract amendment to study three design and cost scenarios at MMB on January 6, 2015 (RES-15-00027); a contract amendment to complete architectural and engineering services for expedited demolition of the MMB loading dock annex on June 16, 2015 (RES-15-00533); a contract amendment to complete architectural and engineering design services for schematic design for the complete rehabilitation of MMB on June 16, 2015 (RES-15-00520); a contract amendment to complete the design development, construction documentation, bidding, and construction administration process to pursue a full rehabilitation of the MMB on December 1, 2015 (RES-15-00907); and a contract amendment to provide extra services during the construction document phase of the project on June 20, 2017 (RES-17-00525). The contract amendment for this resolution is to address extra services incurred during the construction administration phase to add extra masonry restoration work, redesign the existing electrical transformer vault to add a second transformer requested by MGE, and to redesign parts of level one including an added office for the Transportation Director position.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to the current contract between the City of Madison and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd., in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the extra work as described above.
