Body

Madison Parks and Mighty Seeds Forest School Inc. (MSFS) would like to enter into a fee modification for a multi-year reservation to allow a new forest school program for preschool aged children to occur at Door Creek Park and Tenney Park Shelter. MSFS is a local non-profit organization established to provide year-round morning and afternoon outdoor preschool sessions for up to 12 children age three to six years old. The primary goals of the program are to foster childhood connection to nature within an urban community and to cultivate confidence, independence, empathy, collaboration and life skills in a 100% outdoor environment. MSFS is an inclusive school environment with benefits for all students, in particular students with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder, sensory integration disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. MSFS stems from the Forest School Association model based in Europe, adheres to the criteria of The American Forest School Association, and is inspired by the Cedarsong philosophy. The program is led by a qualified Level 3 Practitioner. Madison Parks welcomes partners who bring people to parks during traditionally less busy times of day and that focus on connecting children to nature.
