Title
2020 Proposed Olbrich Botanical Gardens Fees
Body
Research into other wedding venues, such as WI public gardens, local 'wedding barns' and City of Madison sites has been conducted over the past six months which helped develop the proposed rates. In developing the package, chairs will be supplied and placed by Olbrich staff and the new Lussier Terrace patio adjacent to the Evjue Commons will add to the ambience of the reception. In consultation with the Parks Superintendent, staff identified two goals when evaluating Olbrich's wedding program for 2020:
1) Maintain and increase the City Parks revenue,
2) Reduce the number of wedding groups (in 2018 up to 4 per day) because of the pressure that these large groups put on the Gardens, the Facilities, visitors, and the staff.
Additional considerations were parking availability will be reduced due to more family programs being offered on weekends because the Learning Center will be complete -- AND - staff also anticipate pressure on Olbrich parking due to Garver Feed Mill events, including their proposed wedding program.
