The proposed resolution authorizes the double-fill of a Building Maintenance Supervisor (Position #3293) at Monona Terrace for up to two months in 2019, the estimated cost of the double fill is $14,900 (including benefits). Costs associated with the double fill will be absorbed in Monona Terrace’s 2019 budget.

Authorizing a double-fill of the position, #3293, of M.T. Building Maintenance Supervisor, at the Monona Terrace Community Convention Center for approximately 60 days, due to the retirement of incumbent Mike Waters on May 3, 2019.
Body
WHEREAS, M.T. Building Maintenance Supervisor Mike Waters is retiring from City of Madison employment effective May 3, 2019; and
WHEREAS, this position is critical to the operations of the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center as it is responsible for overall building maintenance needs and standards, and
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace has many building systems that are unique and technical in nature and the position is also partially responsible for maintaining Monona Terrace’s LEED Certification, so having the incumbent be able to work with the new hire for a period of time will ensure a smooth transition and
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace intends to start recruiting to fill this position in January, 2019, with the goal of having someone hired to start by early March, and
WHEREAS, if successful, the double-fill will exceed thirty (30) days;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Monona Terrace is authorized to double-fill the position of M.T. Building Maintenance Supervisor, position #3293, from approximately March 4, 2019 through May 3, 2019, which will be Mr. Waters’ final date on the payroll.
