BOH RESOLUTION #2018-27 AUTHORIZATION OF BUDGET TRANSFER OF MATERNAL INFANT EARLY CHILDHOOD HOME VISITING GRANT FUNDS

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) is a grantee of the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Family Foundations Grant, intended to give pregnant women and families, particularly those considered at-risk, necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy and ready to learn. The MIECHV Grant is offered through the federal Maternal Child Health Bureau and administered in Wisconsin through the Department of Children and Family Services, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and PHMDC has been a recipient since 2015.
At PHMDC, this funding supports two Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) Public Health Nurse home visitors, a Maternal Child Health Navigator, NFP program fees, supplies and equipment, mental health consultation and staff training. PHMDC proposes a budget transfer in the 2017-2018 MIECHV Grant from purchased services to permanent salaries as outlined below to account for reduced expenses in various purchased services budget lines.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, authorizes the transfer of the amounts of the 2017-2018 Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting Family Foundations Grant as outlined for the purpose of providing home visiting services to families in Dane County.
