The proposed resolution adds a Librarian 1 to the Library’s operating budget for three years, funded by a donation through the Madison Public Library Foundation. The donation specifically funds a Teen Services Librarian at Lakeview Library for three years, including program materials and supplies. The estimated cost of the Librarian 1 position for the three years is approximately $265,000 (including benefits).
The funding for the position is not included in the Library’s adopted 2019 operating budget. The Library Board accepted the donation at the January 3, 2019 meeting, amending the Library's budget for the revenue and corresponding expenses.
