The proposed resolution authorizes a sole source purchase with Creative Business Interiors, Inc. to purchase replacement furniture at Monona Terrace. The furniture is estimated to cost $79,935. This expenditure will be funded through Monona Terrace’s 2018 capital budget (Project 17406-2018 Building and Building Improvements).

A Resolution authorizing a sole source purchase of goods from Creative Business Interiors, Inc. as a sole source provider of Paul Brayton Lounge Seating, for replacement of existing furniture in public spaces at Monona Terrace.
Body
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is a Frank Lloyd Wright Designed facility; and desires to uphold the Frank Lloyd Wright design principles and intent as well as the iconic reputation of the facility; and,
WHEREAS, the replacement furniture was selected by Peter Rott of Isthmus Architecture, who is a licensed architect and the first recipient of a Master’s Degree from the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, and a committee of Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center Staff; and,
WHEREAS, the furniture selected by Peter Rott is only available through this exclusive distributor and cannot be put out for competitive quotes; and,
WHEREAS, for the reasons explained above and in the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form, Creative Business Interiors, Inc. is the only vendor that distributes the Paul Brayton Lounge Seating selected by Peter Rott and,
WHEREAS, MGO 4.26(2) requires goods to be purchased using competitive procedures approved by the Finance Director and under the Finance Director’s Purchasing Guidelines, Common Council approval is required to purchase goods over $25,000 without a competitive bidding process;
WHEREAS, for the reasons stated on the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form, Creative Business Interiors, Inc. Seating is the only provider that can provide the specific needs for Monona Terrace, thereby qualifying as ...
