DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This amendment will require the Plan Commission to consider a report of the City Forester regarding the impact a proposed building relocation could have on City Terrace trees prior to approving an application for Demolition or Removal of the building.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

1. Subparagraph b. of Paragraph 2. of Subdivision (a) entitled “Applications With a Proposed Future Use” of Subsection (7) entitled “Approval Standards” of Section 28.185 entitled “Approval of Demolition (Razing, Wrecking) and Removal” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:

“b. The reasonableness of efforts to relocate the building, including but not limited to the costs of relocation, the impact on city terrace trees, and the structural soundness of the building; and”

2. Paragraph 5. of Subdivision (a) entitled “Applications With a Proposed Future Use” of Subsection (7) entitled “Approval Standards” of Section 28.185 entitled “Approval of Demolition (Razing, Wrecking) and Removal” of the Madison General Ordinances is created to read as follows:

“5. The Plan Commission shall consider the report of the City Forester regarding the impact a proposed building relocation could have on City terrace trees.”
