Fiscal Note

This proposed resolution amends the 2018 Adopted Metro Transit Operating Budget to accept funding in the amount of $10,000 from the University of Wisconsin - Madison to support next steps in the Dream Up Wisconsin process. Metro Transit will use this funding to work with a consultant to support data collection and planning for Metro's JobRide Plus-Dane County proposal to work on connecting public transit with transportation to jobs outside of Metro's service area.

Body

WHEREAS, Metro Transit is involved with the Dream Up Wisconsin process through the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and;

 

WHEREAS the Dream Up Wisconsin project is part of the Alliance for the American Dream initiative, funded by Schmidt Futures, and seeks to improve economic opportunities and the country's competitiveness by building and supporting a stronger, more inclusive middle class, and;

 

WHEREAS Metro Transit is leading a public-private team to develop the JobRide Plus-Dane County proposal aimed at connecting people with higher paying jobs outside of Metro's service area without the expense of car ownership; and

 

WHEREAS Metro Transit has moved to the next step in this process with funding in the amount of $10,000;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison is authorized to accept funding in the amount of $10,000 from the University of Wisconsin - Madison for the Dream Up Wisconsin program;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2018 Adopted Operating Budget of the Transit Utility is amended to appropriate these funds from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
