Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution approves plan documents to award the contract for the demolition of Unit Well #3 at North First Street in coordination with the planned street reconstruction project at East Johnson Street (MUNIS 10287) in 2019; the cost of the demolition is estimated to be $95,980. Funding for this demolition work is included within the Major Streets adopted 2018 capital budget for the intitial phase of of the street reconstruction project from Baldwin Street to 1st Street. The Johnson Street reconstruction project is estimated to cost a total of $6.245 million with approximately $2.6 million being from Federal funding sources and the remainder funded by GO Borrowing, special assessments, and applicable utilities.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following low bids for miscellaneous improvements be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the low bidders contained herein, subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 39.02 of the Madison General Ordinances concerning compliance with the Affirmative Action provisions and subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 33.07 of the Madison General Ordinances regarding Best Value Contracting:

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds be encumbered to cover the cost of the projects contained herein.
