Fiscal Note
The proposed ordinance change updates the references in Chapter 34, MGO, Fire Prevention Code, to the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code (IFC). The fiscal impact of the changes, if any, are anticipated to be minimal. No appropriation is required.

Amending Sections 34.02(2)(h)1, 34.03 34.105(14)(b), (17), (20), (22)(b), 34.315, 34.603, 34.607(1)(c), 34.904, 34.1004, 34.1029 ; creating Sections 34.202(15), 34. 701, and 34.3100; renumbering Section 34.202(15) to (16) and Section 34.319 to Sec. 34.620; renumbering and amending Section 34.605 to Sec. 343.604 and Section 34.703 to 34.705; and repealing Section 34.604 of the Madison General Ordinances to update references to the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code and creates a definition of a pop-up canopy.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance updates the references in Chapter 34, MGO, to the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code (IFC). It creates a definition of a pop-up canopy. The ordinance requires a pop-up canopy to be in compliance with IFC Chapter 34, but changes some sections of IFC Chapter 34 if the pop-up canopy is only in existence at a single event for less than nine consecutive days.
