Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution creates a new hourly classification of Auto Worker. The proposed resolution does not require any appropriation. Should the resolution be approved, the Water Utility may choose to use the hourly position within the authorized annual budgeted salary amount per the adopted 2018 operating budget.

Create a new hourly classification of Auto Worker to be placed in the salary schedule of Compensation Group 16, Range 00 with a pay range of $13.01 per hour.

Body

WHEREAS, in 2017, the hourly classification of Auto Worker was created in CG15 so that Fleet Service could offer employment opportunities for high school students through the MMSD Youth Apprenticeship Program, and

WHEREAS, employees in Fleet are part of employee association 236, and are in compensation group 15, and

WHEREAS, the Water Utility has interest in participating in the Youth Apprenticeship Program, and

WHEREAS, employees at the Water Utility are part of employee association 6000, and are in compensation group 16, and

WHEREAS, compensation group 16  does not currently have an hourly classification of Auto Worker, and

WHEREAS, the Auto Worker in compensation group 15 is being paid $13.01/hr.,

THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that a new hourly classification of Auto Worker is created in CG16, with an hourly rate of $13.01/hr., thereof.
