PREAMBLE

The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) Pump Station 10 Forcemain project intends to rehabilitate approximately 2,000 linear feet of 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer located in the Wisconsin Southern Railroad corridor between Buckeye Road and Cottage Grove Road on Madison’s East Side. The construction work is anticipated to extend into the evening hours for 2 nights when the installation of the pipe is underway but if there are unplanned construction delays, additional nights may be required.

Madison General Ordinance section 24.08(3) provides the Common Council the ability to allow construction activities outside of the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the passage of a resolution and a hearing before the Board of Public Works. It is anticipated that the Contractor performing this work will call for permission to perform the work required to continue pumping operations outside the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM because:

1. The bypassing and installation processes may operate outside of the standard working hours

The proposed activities beyond the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM may be as follows:

1. Hydraulic cleaning of the sanitary sewer main sections to b...
