BOH Res #2018-16 to Enter into Lease Agreement with the Community Development Authority of the City of Madison

Public Health-Madison & Dane County (PHMDC) is seeking authorization for the execution of a lease for space in the north end of the building in The Village on Park located at 2300 South Park Street (North Building). This space will be used for office purposes during the remodel of PHMDC’s City-County Building office space. This lease agreement will allow PHMDC to continue normal administrative operations during the period of construction at the City-County Building.
The Community Development Authority (CDA) of the City of Madison currently owns the North Building space PHMDC is proposing renting in The Village on Park. The cost of this space is $4,161.00 per month, and pro-rated on a daily basis for any partial calendar months. PHMDC is also required to pursue a parking agreement due to lack of parking at the Village on Park. The initial term of the lease will be for 9 months beginning September 14, 2018 and end on June 13, 2019. Upon agreement of both parties, the Lease may be renewed for three (3) subsequent one (1) month terms. Rent during the renewal term(s) shall remain the same as during the initial lease term.
One condition of the lease is that PHMDC must sign an agreement with a nearby property owner to rent 25 parking spaces for the duration of the lease, or PHMDC staff utilizing the North Building will be instructed to park on the street. PHMDC proposes entering a parking agreement with The Park Bank, located at 2401 S. Park Street, for 25 parking spaces for the duration of the lease agreement for the North Building at a cost of $50 per month per parking space.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County authorizes Public Health-Madison and Dane County to enter into an agreement with Community Development Authority to fund leasing of space in the North Building at Village on Park, and author...
