Funds for the salary of the Alderperson for District 19 are available in the Commom Council 2018 Operating Budget.

Title

Appointing Keith Furman as Alderperson for District 19 to serve until the Spring 2019 election.

Body

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee met on July 23, 2018 to make a recommendation on the appointment of an Alderperson for District 19 according to the procedures outlined in Madison General Ordinances 2.03; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee reviewed the resumes submitted and interviewed the applicants; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee recommends that Keith Furman be appointed to fill the vacated District 19 aldermanic seat; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council shall appoint and confirm the recommended candidate, or appoint and confirm another candidate among the applicants, per MGO 2.03(4),

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Keith Furman is hereby appointed to the position of Alderperson for District 19 effective August 7, 2018 to serve until an election is held in the spring of 2019 and a qualified District 19 Alderperson is elected and sworn-in on April 16, 2019.
