Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes the execution of an underground electric easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company (MG&E) for installation of underground electric facilities to serve the Midtown Police Station. No City appropriation is required.

Title

Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Midtown Police Station property located at 4020 Mineral Point Road. (11th AD)

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) will be installing underground electric facilities to serve the Midtown Police Station to be constructed at 4020 Mineral Point Road and requires an underground electric easement across said property; and

 

WHEREAS, City Engineering Division, Police Department and Office of Real Estate Services staff have reviewed and approve of the granting of said easement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Midtown Police Station property located at 4020 Mineral Point Road (depicted on attached Exhibit A), legally described as follows:

 

A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Lot 1, Certified Survey Map No. 14401, recorded with the Dane County Register of Deeds in Volume 98 of Certified Survey Maps, Pages 286-289, as Document No. 5292279, lying in part of the SW ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 21, T7N - R9E, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strip being more particularly described as follows:

 

The Easement Area shall be located 5 feet on the right side and 5 feet on the left side of the centerline of MG&E’s facilities as constructed.  The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit B.
