Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the agreement for design oversight by the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the Pleasant View Road - USH 14 to Mineral Point Road reconstruction project at an estimated cost of $50,000. The adopted 2018 capital budget includes $837,500 of budget authority in 2018 in addition to $1,671,516 of prior year reauthorized appropriation intended for the project design (MUNIS 10284). Funding is provided by GO Borrowing. The breakout of the cost for this design oversight agreement is estimated as follows:
Major Streets: $50,000
The City will be reimbursed 36% of the cost ($18,000) by the City of Middleton under a separate agreement that was executed on June 19, 2017.

PREAMBLE
The City of Madison and City of Middleton are proposing to jointly reconstruct Pleasant View Road (USH 14 to Mineral Point Road) in 2023-2025. The City has hired Strand Engineering to prepare plans and specifications and has entered into an agreement with the City of Middleton for design cost sharing. The project will be managed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and a project Agreement with WisDOT will be required for funding, oversight and construction. The City of Madison and WisDOT propose to enter into an agreement for design oversight for this proposed project. The basis for cost sharing participation is as follows:
1) Design Engineering: All design-engineering costs are 100% Local Funding (City of Madison and City of Middleton).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for design oversight for Pleasant View Road - USH 14 to Mineral Point Road.
