The proposed resolution approves a non-competitive contract with Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. to install an exhaust system at Fire Station 14, the total cost of the contract is $53.082. The Fire Department’s capital budget includes $7.57 million for Station 14 (Munis project 17451) funded by GO Borrowing. Funding is available for this contract.

PlymoVent exhaust removal systems are currently installed at all 13 Fire Stations in the City of Madison and all apparatus, both front-line and reserve vehicles, are outfitted with compatible magnetic grabbers. Fire Station 14 is proposed to be outfitted with a PlymoVent exhaust removal system to maintain compatibility across the City.
PlymoVent Corporation certifies authorized dealers for the sales, installation and service of their systems. Hastings Air Energy Inc. is the certified dealer for the state of Wisconsin. No other company is certified in our area nor does the PlymoVent Corporation allow the installation or purchase of systems or parts by any other company.
WHEREAS, the Fire Department needs to install an exhaust removal system at Fire Station 14,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that project funding exists within the Fire Station 14 capital budget,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contract be awarded to Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc. which is the only PlymoVent authorized dealer for Wisconsin.
BE FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the contract with Hastings Air Energy Control, Inc.
