I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.


DOWNTOWN COORDINATING COMMITTEE

ALAN J. MARTIN (9th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Second Alternate. Mr. Martin is recently retired having worked for the City of Madison for over 34 years. During his time with the City, Mr. Martin worked for several agencies, including the Water Utility, the Assessor’s Office and the Planning Division. He had spent some time as staff to the Plan Commission but was the lead staff to the Urban Design Commission for many years. Mr. Martin succeeds Adam J. Plotkin.
TERM EXPIRES: 10-19-2019


MADISON ARTS COMMISSION

KATHRYN (KATIE) H. RYAN (13th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Member. Ms. Ryan has extensive experience in the art world, including having served as the managing editor of ARTFORUM magazine, an international publication specializing in contemporary art; curator of education for the Madison Art Center (now MMOCA); and, serving on art selection panels for the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA). She is involved with numerous organizations and serves on the MMOCA Advisory Council and is a docent at the Chazen Museum of Art. Ms. Ryan succeeds Michael I. Ford.

OVERTURE COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD

EUGENIA PODESTÁ (7th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of City Appointee. Ms. Podestá is a business owner and non-governmental organization (NGO) professional - working as a senior director for Vital Voices Global Partnership and Synergy Coworking, which she co-founded. She has been involved with several organizations and previously served on the Madison Police and Fire Commission. Ms. Podestá succeeds Jose J. Madera.
