The proposed resolution authorizes the execution of an underground electric easement to Wisconsin Power and Light Company. No City appropriation is required.

Title

Authorizing the City of Madison to execute an Underground Electric Easement to Wisconsin Power and Light Company, to occupy a portion of a City Engineering Stormwater Utility property located at 7997 Raymond Road in the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Madison is the owner of a property known as Engineering Stormwater Utility 533, located at 7997 Raymond Road in the City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin (the “Property”); and

WHEREAS, Wisconsin Power and Light Company (“Wisconsin P & L”) has existing facilities located within a portion of the Property without the benefit of easement rights; and

WHEREAS, Wisconsin P & L requests a 20-foot-wide permanent easement for underground electric utility purposes (the “Easement”) from the City of Madison (the “City”) in, on, under and through a portion of the Property, as described on attached Exhibit A and depicted on attached Exhibit B; and

WHEREAS, the City’s Engineering Division has reviewed the request and agrees to grant the Easement, with no consideration payable.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to the Wisconsin Power and Light Company across a portion of the City’s property located at 7997 Raymond Road, as legally described on attached Exhibit A and depicted on attached Exhibit B.
