Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a Purchase of Services contract on behalf of the City with Quercus Land Stewardship Services, LLC for Invasive Vegetation Control and Installation and Maintenance of Native Seed and Plants.
Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the purchase of services contract with Quercus Land Stewardship Services, LLC for invasive vegetation control and installation of native plants at a total estimated cost of $126,000. In the adopted 2018 budget the Parks division has budgeted $81,500 within the Conservation Park Improvements program (split funded by GO Borrowing, Impact Fees, and Olin Trust earnings) and the Park Land Improvements Program (funded by GO Borrowing). The Engineering Division oversees the stormwater management funding provided in the adopted 2018 operating budget within the Stormwater Utility budget for $55,500 to help with invasive species control in the City's greenways. The adopted 2018 budget provides sufficient funding for the proposed contract.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Division, Engineering Division and Parks Division through a competitive process solicited proposals for RFP# 8701-0-2018-JA, Invasive Vegetation Control and Installation and Maintenance of Native Seed and Plants; and

WHEREAS, an evaluation team, consisting of a representative from purchasing and relevant city staff from the Engineering and Parks Divisions, conducted a detailed evaluation of each of the bids and selected the lowest responsive bidder for the base bid and proposed 3 year extension; and

WHEREAS, through the contract Quercus Land Stewardship Services, LLC will remove invasive species and install native vegetation on property owned by the Parks Division and Engineering Division; and

WHEREAS, the low bid for Quercus Land Stewardship Services, LLC. is $125,979.24 for the work in 2018; and
