I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following resident committee appointments.

 

 

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION

 

SHERAY L. WALLACE (10th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Ms. Wallace serves on the Balsam/Russet Neighborhood Resource Team. She is a community organizer and active with the Meadowood Neighborhood Association. Ms. Wallace succeeds Susan M. Schmitz.

TERM EXPIRES: 4-21-2020

 

 

MADISON FOOD POLICY COUNCIL

 

TEAL M. STANIFORTH (2nd A.D) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Resident Member. Ms. Staniforth is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying Community & Environmental Sociology and Environmental Studies. She succeeds Daniel Y.P. Syverson.

MADISON PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD

 

JOSEPH G. ROSAS (17th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Rosas is a social worker with the Madison Metropolitan School District. He has been involved in organizing several community events and works closely with the Greater Sandburg Neighborhood Committee. Mr. Rosas succeeds Megan K. Jackson.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2020

 

 

OVERTURE COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD

 

GINGER A. CONTRERAS (13th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of City Appointee.  Ms. Contreras is an outreach specialist with the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery. In addition, she is a co-founder of Chronicle Rising, a company that provides achievement services towards reducing the achievement gap. Ms. Contreras succeeds Kia Karlen.

PLAN COMMISSION

 

Madison Metropolitan School District recommendation:

ANDREW J. STATZ (6th A.D.) - appoint to the non-voting position of Madison Metropolitan School District Superintendent or Designee. Mr. Statz serves as the Executive Director of Research, Accountability & Data Use for the MMSD. He succeeds Fatima Bendada.

TERM EXPIRES: 4-30-2018

 

 

PUBLIC MARKET DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

 

JEFF M. GLAZER (20th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member. Mr. Glazer is an attorney and clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, which provides free legal services to nascent entrepreneurs and early stage companies in a number of practice areas, including food and beverage.  He has worked as an attorney with several food and beverage companies in Madison. Mr. Glazer also served as president of the Dunn’s Marsh Neighborhood Association. He succeeds Ashley N. Robertson

 

 

SUSTAINABLE MADISON COMMITTEE

 

EVELYN H. ATKINSON (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Member. Ms. Atkinson currently holds the Third Alternate position and has served since 3-7-2017. She succeeds Jason A. Vargo.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2018

 

SAMUEL J. DUNAISKI (20th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a two-year term to the position of Third Alternate. Mr. Dunaiski is the Communications Coordinator for 1000 Friends of Wisconsin. He is a consultant/freelance meteorologist, providing meteorological and climatological analyses for a variety of organizations. Mr. Dunaiski succeeds Evelyn H. Atkinson who is assuming a regular member position.
