Accepting sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street improvements (including bituminous surface pavement) constructed by Private Contract Madison College Gateway Building and Ingenuity Center, Private Contract No. 2281.
Body
WHEREAS, the Madison College (MATC), has satisfactorily completed the installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street improvements (including bituminous surface pavement) by private contract, in accordance with the City of Madison Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, in: Madison College Gateway Building and Ingenuity Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
That the street improvements, including the bituminous pavement, on the following streets be and are hereby accepted:
• Construct 8 ft wide sidewalk along the south side of Anderson Street from Wright Street to approximately 150 ft east to match up with the entrance on Anderson Street.
• Construct 8 ft wide sidewalk on the east and west sides of Wright Street from Anderson Street to the mid-block pedestrian crossing.
• Construct concrete tabletop crossing for the mid-block pedestrian crossing on Wright Street.
• Construct new 10 ft wide crosswalks at the intersection of Anderson and Wright Street for both pedestrians and bicyclists. Portions of the intersection may need to be reconstructed for the new crosswalks.
• Install conduit and the necessary underground facilities for the future installation of pedestrian signal/flashers at the mid-block crossing on Wright Street. The installation of the signal/flashers shall be done under a separate contract.
• Construct a bus pullout lane along the east side of Wright Street and install an accessible boarding surface in the terrace adjacent to the bus pullout lane.
• Install a new bus shelter which shall be privately owned and maintained. If the bus shelter is located within the City’s Right of Way an encroachment shall be required.
The attached Schedule "A" representing the actual cost of construction of these improvements, which shall increase the street infrastructure value for Project No. 53B2281 $ 214,219.84 for a useful life of 40 years.
