Fiscal Note

The annualized cost of the proposed recreated position is $6,000 (including benefits). The impact on the 2017 budget is approximately $2,300. The 2^nd quarter projection estimated that the Police Department's budget will be over approximately $1 million at the end of 2017, due to overages in fringe benefits which are beyond the Department’s control. The mid-year appropriation added $0.5 million to the Police Department fringe benefits budget. If this deficit continues, it will need to be covered by other general fund appropriations.
